Can I find a probono lawyer I'm a single parent and I only have social security

The public defender is a "pro bono" lawyer. However, this sounds like a highly unusual case. It is unlikely that your 9 year old is going to face criminal charges, because he is not old enough to form a criminal intent. However, he may need counseling-- serious counseling. If he is charged with an offense, I would bet that the court will appoint an attorney to help him. I'm very sorry that you find yourself in this position. I hope you find this answer helpful. Good luck to the both of you.
The response I have provided is general in nature, and does not create an attorney-client relationship. My practice is based in Rhode Island, and the law and practice in other states or jurisdictions may be different.
