Can I get a lump sum on social security widowers benifits?

Sometimes people refer to the $255.00 one time payment after the death of a wage earner as a lump sum payment. If that is what you mean, and you never received that when your spouse died, you can look into it. People also talk about a lump sum payment when you are due retroactive benefits when you first apply. But, aside from these cases, there is no other lump sum payment.
I agree with Mr. Pont. I've never heard of such an option with Social Security.
I am unaware of any such program that would give you a lump sum.
