I agree with Mr Kalish’s response. I’d also add that even if your son loses the CA benefit, there might be a TN benefit available to him.
I agree with Mr. Kalish. The SSDI benefits will remain unchanged and I will defer to him on the topic of SDI.

As to California SDI benefits, where you live does not affect your eligibility as long as the job was based in California and payroll taxes were paid into the State Disability Insurance program. The federal SSDi payment amount will not change but the the total amount of SSI will as California will no longer be adding to state supplement to SSI of $160.72.
