Henry Chanin had contracted ... hepatitis C at a clinic where large single-use vials of Propofol — manufactured by Teva — were re-used and contaminated. Though the vials were marked for single use, the large size encouraged re-use as a cost-saving measure for the clinic, Eglet argued. Two more verdicts, of $186 million and $108 million, followed in 2011. Teva chose to settle all remaining cases for an undisclosed sum in the fourth trial.
