About Michael

Biography

Michael is a life long Florida native, born in a solid blue-collar suburb. From a young age Michael understood the value of hard work, working with his father in the construction industry. His sense of service and commitment to helping others inspired him to join the military shortly after 9/11. Michael supported combat search-and-rescue and counter-terrorism operations as a USAF airborne radio operator aboard rescue aircraft, where he learned many life lessons and values that he takes with him throughout his law practice.

Michael is a fighter who voluntarily deployed to Iraq, Afghanistan, North Africa, and to disaster relief operations around the world; he was recognized as the 2005 Airman of The Year. After receiving his business degree and his securities licenses he worked for an investment bank before attending law school.

After graduating in the top ten percent of his class, Michael worked as a Prosecutor, where he learned critical trial skills in the direct and cross examination of hostile witnesses and experts. Michael expanded on this foundation by moving on to work for a top civil trial firm which represented major auto manufacturers in roll-over crashes and tire manufacturers in blow-out cases resulting in death or great bodily harm. Michael saw first-hand how the rich and powerful can use their unlimited money and resources to bury the little guy.

These experiences have seasoned Michael in making YOUR presentation of the evidence before a Judge in your case. In the family law arena, Michael has regularly stood up against the fancy high priced law firms in town and has been victorious many times. He has represented clients in complex divorces and highly contested child custody (time-sharing) cases. He has also represented clients charged from high profile sex crime offenses to felonies punishable by life. He has tried cases up to felonies punishable by life and has been victorious. He has also successfully represented clients whose civil cases were declined by the big “bill board” attorneys in town and has successfully recovered over 1 million dollars for clients in wrongful death and other catastrophic injuries cases.

Fantastic attorney for my misdemeanor case

Attorney Mike is highly skilled and cares a great deal about his cases. He went beyond my expectations in my case and I feel that I have gained a friend. I am very happy with his services and I'm thankful he was there for me! I will recommend him to friends and family if the need arises.

Unprofessional and Can Not Trust!!!!

I found Mike on Avvo and picked him because of the good reviews. Mike took over my case from another attorney that was a nightmare. At first Mike came across laid back and sharp. I have a very complicated case so I needed an attorney to handle my case start to finish with care. Around March 28th Mik...e calls me for another retainer payment, and to my knowledge we have no upcoming court dates scheduled. I explained to Mike that both of my businesses had been forced to closed due to Covid and asked since we didn't have anything on the schedule if I could get two or three weeks to figure out the payment. He sounded annoyed and sent me an email stating that hes withdrawing from my case. I was SHOCKED! A few weeks later I received a call from my sons grandmother informing me that I missed court today and my attorney MIKE was there (video) and told the judge he told me about the court date and he wasnt sure why I did not show up, but hes withdrawing from my case. I couldn't believe it. Mike knows how bad my case is and how important my son is me. His actions could have cased me to lose my rights because he was angry I couldn't make the new payment during the hight of the pandemic. If you are a father reading this and love your kids DO NOT PICK MICHAEL. I now had to retain an new attorney at a $10,000 and the case is so complicated Ive lost thousands of dollars on the new attorney just catching up.

This former client came to me from a previous attorney and he made the same allegations against his other former lawyer as well. As soon as I took over I was able to get his dependency case completely dismissed. As far as my fees- every client of mine signs a transparent 2 page simple representation agreement that lays out all fees and costs clearly. Every month each client receives a monthly statement that shows work performed and what the status of their retainer is. Per the agreement once the retainer is exhausted a new retainer is due. Additionally, my law firm only charges for the direct amount of legal work done on their case, and nothing else such as phone calls and text messages which is against the industry standard. In this particular instance it was made clear to me that this individual was not going to pay per the agreement even though I offered several other arrangements and instead he chose to spend $10k to hire another attorney which he is entitled to do so. I even brought the new attorney, who happened to be a colleague of mine up to speed for free to make sure he was aware of where the case was. As far as the allegation that you were not made aware of court dates; that is also not true. The Court sends out notices of court dates, and I speak with all my clients regarding court dates, which is also followed up with letters and emails in advance so that we have enough time to properly prepare. I appreciate you taking the time to voice your frustration and your version of events, and I truly wish you the best of luck going forward. I stand by my 100+ five star reviews and am deeply humbled for any client who makes a review for me. Unlike most firms, I dont solicit clients to make reviews for me, and each review given to me was completely unsolicited. I treasure each client and each review that I receive and I never forget the trust that client's put in me to accomplish their goals and I take that as a sacred duty as reflected by my reviews. In family law, especially in contentious cases no attorney can please everyone.
