Matthew James Adam

Matt Adam is a business, tax and criminal defense attorney with offices in Coralville and Cedar Rapids. He handles commercial and real estate transactions and counsels business owners and members regarding organizational and operational issues. Mr. Adam also works with individuals relating to family disputes and defends clients against charges of victimless crimes. He serves as an adjunct lecturer at the University of Iowa's Henry B. Tippie College of Business where he teaches Legal Aspects of Entrepreneurship. Mr. Adam has also obtained his private pilot license and enjoys flying, golfing, sports and spending time with his family.

Real Estate. Mr. Adam primarily handles both commercial and residential real estate transactions. In addition, he represents clients regarding the legal aspects of various real estate issues including annexation, zoning, real estate development, commercial leases, condominiums and 1031 exchanges.

Mr. Adam advises businesses of all sizes and their members regarding entity organization, operations, governance, and planning, which includes the review, negotiation, and drafting of contracts related to mergers, sales and purchases of assets or stock, reorganizations, redemptions and buy-sell agreements.

Family Law. Mr. Adam represents individuals in all aspects of family dispute resolution, including traditional litigation.

Criminal Law. Mr. Adam defends clients against charges of victimless crimes such as DUIs, assault, drug posession and more.
