We hired Attorney Dennis Powell to represent our child on some felony cases. He got 3 charges dismissed and 2 years deferred adjudication on a drug charge. The probation was violated by the terms of the deferred adjudication and our child was facing up to 10 years TDC (penitentiary). Mr Powell obtai...ned evidence to show the court and the staff that it would be better off with a dismissal of the motion to find our child guilty and instead provide drug rehabilitation. The District Attorney and Judge both agreed with Mr Powell and dismissed the motion for a guilty plea . The Probation staff found our child a great place to help with drugs and career counseling. Dennis and I went before the judge without a recommendation after prosection offered 15 years TDC. The Judge gave me Deferred Adjudication for 10 years and said he'd early terminate my deferred in 5 years if i followed the rules.
